Principal’s Message

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Dear Al Taleem Academy Community,

It is a true honor to welcome you to the new school year. I am deeply grateful to Allah (SWT) for the opportunity to serve as your Principal and to lead such a vibrant, dedicated community.

I bring a rich, multi-faceted background in teaching, school operations, and administrative leadership—ranging from serving as U.S. Office Manager for the National Institute of Technology (leading HR, educational technology, and resource procurement), to working as Business Development Manager at the Noor Institute of Management in Jeddah. My teaching experience spans language and culture instruction at the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute, mathematics for Adult High School Program in New Brunswick Board of Education, and Islamic and Qur’an Studies at Noor-Ul-Iman School. Complemented by advanced credentials—an M.S. in Educational Technology, a B.S. in Telecommunications Management, and a Cambridge CELTA certification—my leadership approach is rooted in active collaboration, operational excellence, and total dedication to our students.

Our Core Vision My primary mission is to cultivate a proud, vibrant Islamic identity while empowering our students to excel as confident, articulate Muslim Americans. Academic rigor and spiritual growth go hand in hand; our children do not need to choose between the two. We aim to balance strong foundational academics—math, science, literacy, and technology—with core values of adab, integrity, discipline, and compassion. My goal is not simply to manage Al Taleem Academy, but to cultivate an institution that is academically distinguished, spiritually grounded, professionally managed, safe for every child, trusted by every family, and built to endure for generations.

Strengthening Our Community Rather than changing what already works, my role is to listen, evaluate, and build upon Al Taleem’s established foundation. Every operational decision we make will center on a single guiding question: How does this directly benefit our students?

Strong schools are built on strong partnerships. I am deeply committed to supporting our teachers, keeping parents informed and involved, and ensuring that every student feels safe, challenged, and valued.

My door is always open. Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your warm welcome, and I look forward to serving your children and our community.

Warmest regards,

Amal Sheltoni
